to my portfolio. As I've mentioned to you before, I always appreciate the enthusiasm your bring to critiques you write. You write well Lori. The only regret I have about these images you've commented upon is that I can't post them in a larger format. I recently bought a 20" monitor as well as a Canon 20D that produces images about 8 megapixels in size. I do my preliminary work in Photoshop CS at full size. Not surprisingly, considering the excellent equipment I have, including a couple of professional lenses, the images are stunning. THEN I reduce them fro 3500 pixels in width to 800 pixels and convert them from 16 bit PSD files to 8 bit JPEG files. Needless to say the quailty plummets. I certainly don't fault Adam for setting the limits he does at TE. The site is a marvel and wonderful for what it is, bringing folks together to share photos and talk about where they live and travel. But the better my photography becomes, the more I want to share the best quality possible. This image appears on my desktop at the moment at 1600 by 1050 pixels. It is really stunning. That said, I continue to work to improve my post processing and camera work so that I can produce the best images for TE as possible. There are some folks posting regularly whose work knocks me out. That is one of the wonderful things about this place. We can be inspired by the work of others to do better ourselves. Thanks for visiting my portfolio and for sharing your comments. You live in such a beautiful area that I hardly blame you for staying close to home rather than rambling around. I envy you the many wonderful hikes you keep mentioning in your photo notes.
