Ian Thanks for yor comments. You are right abot the sky being burnt out - I have to confess that I am still learning the features on my camera, and for some reason thought it was a good idea to mess with some of the settings - and kin dof ruined half of my photos in the process. It was hard not to thought - the sun was very bright but every now and then was covered by a thin layer of cloud, making the hwole sky brilliant white.
