I have a confession: I did bring the warmth of the colour up a little from a duller shade of brown (I increased the yellow and red saturation slightly). Still, I was only really amplifying what lay hidden inside that rust, just waiting to burst out. As for the cat, I can see your point, but as much as I love cats I rather like this one without the extra dynamics (of texture, colour, and composition) that it would bring. In any event, we neither of us get to choose. Even if there'd been a cat right there next to me he or she would doubtless have refused to pose because that is what cats do, they ignore you.
