Probably the best way is by using a dedicated slide scanner and decent software such as Vuescan. You may also be able to get acceptable results with some flatbed scanners although these will generally not be as good or as fast as dedicated scanner. Alternatively, if you don't have too many to scan, professional scanning may be an option.
