| You aren't missing much. The level of stuff on PH is OK, but it isn't so high as to set itself up as some kind of grouping of the elite. The thing about PH, coming from one of the very first members and someone who quit the place, is that it is an insular, creatively dry place. The photography of the members there hasn't evolved beyond what they were shooting on TE prior to joining. Why? Because the place is a cave. It is insulated, and that makes it pretty much like inbreeding. There is no new blood because you have the selection process which is done by people looking for more of the same. If you want to grow, see new styles, see something new, it wont be on PH, that's for sure. Though there are a few guys there who are growing, but it isn't because of PH. Mostly, its a place for backslapping even worse than TE. A shame because PH at its beginning was a place where critiquing was much more robust. Now crap is celebrated because its from a "big name". in that regard, its just like TE. | |||
