I added luminosity to the darkest zone and sharpened.

In PS:
Cropped the sides using a perspective correction at the same time.
Decreased brightness and increased contrast. Then made the dark parts brighter again with levels. Sharpened.
Cloned some details in the dark opening above the gate.

I wanted to crop the space on the left to give the impression of looking out at the scene on the street from the point of view of the man, as if we are looking out with him, not at him. I darkened the highlights a bit, and sharpened. Hope you like this version Artur.

Adjusted the frame
And selected 2 boots and deselected the rest
Used the hue/Saturation to make the rest B&W
