- "Light and shadows near and far, the birthday expression on the face of a young child, the texture of sidewalk against grass, the silhouette of tree branches against the sky--a photographer's life is seeing the world in images and memories caught in time, melding in the present moment the historical and the possible. Through a captured image, the mind's eye of the photographer is revealed for a moment, how he or she sees the world. This art form gives me the ability to set out and express my ideas in a way that can be widely understood, whether or not I speak or write your language. Visual images transcend the written (or spoken) word."
I wrote those words quite a while ago, but they aptly describe what attracts me to the art of photography... and what makes TrekEarth such a marvelous means of exploring the world. While we may not all speak with the same words, our photographs allow us to communicate in a way that is universally understood.
That said, I'm still very much an inexperienced photographer, especially concerning the possibilities available through digital alteration. Being new to TrekEarth, I'm open to any and all feedback, in the hopes it will lead to continual improvement. Thanks very much!
