This is a very nice photo to work with. I did quite a few things - here are the main ones: made a duplicate layer and adjusted levels for the trees in the background. Placed the original layer over the top, then removed the tree part with an eraser. Did the same for the castle and bridge, and then worked with the dodge tool. Sharpened slightly. Hope you like it!

(it turned out not to be a sepia, but a highly desaturated colour image - that's how you got that interesting quality!)

I have tried to improve clarity of the far mountains by changing sharpness and contrast. Hope you will like it.

Just used levels and added a little contrast to make the black parts darker. Then used unsharp mask to increase the sharpness. It brightened it up a littler overall.

Excellent picture, althought i made two changes: first i cropped a little bit at the bottom because my eyes couldn´t focus on the sunset and gave a little bit more of contrast but nothing we can see at first eye.

Dear Donald, I just chose to crop the sky, as I found the water more interesting :)
