| Intro: | 2007-12-30 Time to say goodbye, for a while, at least. 2007 was a year with mixed feelings about it to me, but from a photographic standpoint it was stunning, indeed. 2008 will demand me more time to my personal projects, so I won't be able to post in TE at the pace I'd like to. Be sure that I'll keep on observing (and commenting) your awesome photographic art and, every now and then, posting some special image from myself. In the meantime, my account in TE will remain active, so that you can reach me whenever you want. I'm working on a website to showcase my portfolio (and my brother's as well), and for now it can be seen at Viana Photography. Stay safe. Sergio 2007-09-09 Just to update my gear, I'm now the happy owner of a Fujifilm S9100 (yes, I've given up the DSLR in favor of a prosumer). I think it will give me a whole new enthusiasm about this addictive hobby and also teach me a lot. It will take some time to tame it, so don't expect too much about skills improvements for a while... ;o) 2006-12-31 Hi, Folks. I'm a 34-year-old doctor (MD), specialized in radiology, married and father of a couple of 2-years-old fraternal twins (Vinícius and Maria Fernanda), addicted to amateur photography, eager to improve my skills. I'm about to complete 3 years in TE, and during this time this wonderful site has been a real school for me, although my job often forces me to stay away for a while. Many thanks to the great photographers that have spent their time and expertise to critique my photos during all this time, I'm really indebted to you. I began shooting with a quite simple point-and-shoot Sony DSC-P3, and later have made an upgrade, buying a Nikon Coolpix 5400, an advanced compact digital camera. Although this is a marvelous small piece of hardware, handy and realiable, I've reached a point where I want to do things that only a DSLR would allow. I'm flirting with a Nikon D50, and hopefully 2007 will be the year to get married with it. I have great expectations (thanks, Dickens!) for this year that is about to begin.
