| Intro: | Hello everyone, my name is Maja and I love to travel. Travelling means taking lots of photos and with time, I learned to appreciate good photography probably because I myself am not that good at that. I found this site thanks to someone at Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree (eternally grateful). Before I gathered courage to join and post my photos I was just looking what other people did, reading your comments and critiques and learned sooooooo much. Not only I discovered what abbreviations POV or DOF mean (or IMO/IMHO for that matter!) but also that having people in your pictures is not completely wrong, that having subjects in the middle of the photo is not always the best choice, that good close-up of a detail is sometimes better than trying to capture huge building from far, far away... I tried to apply things I learned during my last trip and I can tell you, people noticed the improvement. I don't have a digital camera, I don't even have a good camera (by the way, the only option I use is flesh on/off) and it means that quality of my photos is not as good is it's a standard here on TrekEarth but I hope someone will enjoy seeing world through my eyes. |
