Made an adjustment layer to bring down the brightness just a bit and used the burn tool to bring out detail in the highlight area of the floor.

I made an attempt to soften the shadows and highlights on the girl's face. Used layers for selective level and curves to brighten the eyes and darken the nose. What do you think? Feel free to tell me "no, thanks".

Returned balance to the exposure between sky and beach. Added some saturation in the cyans and increased sharpness just slightly.

Color balance: added some red and yellow to the shadows to give a more neutral color balance

Levels: Took some of the harshness out of the right side of the sky

Reduced contrast slightly and increased brightness slightly. Added a slight amount of saturation.

The photo looked a little washed out and lacked pop. I added contrast and and bit of saturation. I also reduced the border a bit, as it seems to detract from a good photo.

Rotated .5 degree counter clockwise to level the horizon line and added unsharp mask, 70%, .5 pixels.

I saw your note about the buildings at bottom and agreed it would look better without them. I cropped this to a panoramic format to eliminate the buildings. I also reduced brightness 10 points in Photoshop, increased contrast 25 points. I added a slight amount of saturation overall and a little extra to the greens and reds just to bring out some of the complimentary colors and reduce the monochromatic look. Added unsharp mask of 40%, .4 pixels, 1 threshold level.

Very, very minor, but I rotated to the right by .45 degrees to level out the horizontal lines.
