hi swiatek..
this is a better representation.. i just noticed that in the previous graph.. in the film one.. i've made the curve a little too vertical.. which is notvery realistic..

so made another one.. and on the same graph superimposed the other curves as well..to help me illustrate what i'm trying to say..

F is the film curve.. for the reasons that i already mentioned earlier..
MP is where i feel maciej is right now.. stagnant.. M is his potential..
MF is where i feel he can reach if he shoots once in a while with film as well.. in order to get himself in the habit of photographing more judiciously and blah blah blah..
so EVEN IF he gets stagnant by any chance... he will get stagnant at a much higher level..

this is only 1 hypothetical case.. and i've on purpose chosen the most pessimistic case...

sorry SKILL is a very stupid term here.. but can't think of anything else..
hope this is clearer.. :)
the only bias towards film and against digital here are the shapes of the film and digital curves.. but in trying to be as objective as i can.. i've shown that they can indeed intersect each other...

make any sense???

yours is the one on top the graph for a digital user...

the one below is a film graph..

as you can see.. in the short period you'll learn more on the digital camera.. but since you're not learning how to think.. your curve becomes asymptotic to the time axis.. hence you start to stagnate.. you could have been on the dotted curve..

the lower graph is a film graph...

ofcourse.. somebod else might have a contradictory theory :)

changed it to black and white.. closed my eyes and adjusted the contrast according how i saw the rain..
so that people don't grumble about the small size and the unorthodox frame.. added a frame which would make the whole photograph look like an 8" x 10 " wet print if i had made it out of a black and white negative (with a white border)

practised in puruliya, west bengal.. it's a tribal dance.. in which they depict something.. somethinglike katha kali where they indulge in story telling through a dance..
they dance while drums are played and somebody sings out the lines of the charecters that the dancers are playing... for example in this photograph the tribals are playing 'farmers' and depicting for the crowd how the government contractors has been harassing and cheating them
and how they start a rebellion and so on..
