- My interest in photography began early in my childhood using a basic plastic camera purchased at the general variety goods store; it had the old flash cube for use indoors.
I then progressed through various models including “Polaroid” instant cameras etc. and finally got the opportunity to purchase my first 35mm SLR, it was a Fujica with a 50mm lens and a 200mm zoom lens. After some years my Career and other life pressures took hold and I took only occasional photos. In the last five years I decided to pursue my passion in photography spurred on by my younger brother who has taken the hobby to great levels of proficiency. I purchased my first Digital camera which was a Panasonic DMC-FZ20. This gave me a good introduction to the potential of processing and printing my own photos, and of course I now own a Nikon D80 with various lenses, filters and large format printers and also a scanner to convert my old SLR film to digital. I have had the opportunity to travel to various locations around Australia including Central Australia, Tasmania and of course throughout Victoria. My preferred subjects are Landscapes, Wildlife and subjects with interesting textures etc.
