| Intro: | Hi, my name's Richard. I bought my first digital camera, a Canon EOS 300D, at the end of 2004. In February 2006 my girlfriend and I embarked on a one-year, Round-The-World trip starting in Brazil and continuing through South America for 6 months taking in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. In September 2006 we flew to New Zealand followed by Sydney, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and a 'short' train ride from Beijing to Moscow before we flew back to England from St. Petersburg. In May 2006, in Bolivia, I had my EOS 300D stolen and consequently lost about 500 photographs which was far more upsetting than losing the camera itself! Finally, in Sepetember 2006 we had reached New Zealand where I bought a Canon EOS 30D to replace it. In the intervening 4 months we shared my girlfriend's EOS 350D so thankfully I was still able to take photographs for the entire trip. In total I took nearly 10,000 photos on my Round-The-World trip and although many of them probably aren't up to posting standards you'll hopefully still see a fair number as I start the mammoth task of sorting through and uploading them to TrekEarth.
