Hi,

With Photoshop I cropped sideways to straighten the picture. Unfortunately, it also meant taking the frame out. Actually, it's still tilting, but I couldn't do much more without encroaching on parts of the main subject. Afterwards I sharpened the pic.

used lightness & shadow in photoshop to emphasis the wave - hope you think it works a bit.

I used the level control to open the shadows some, and lighten the scene overall, then upped the saturation to try and keep the same saturation level as the orginal, just a little brighter. I followed up with a little USM. Hope you like it.

I made a portrait mode to try to compensate in some way for the missing tree tops that were bothering me a little. I placed the path starting from the left bottom corner and removed some twigs. I think the path is more obvious that way. I hope you don't mind removing so much of your pic.

Hi Derek,

After reading your text, I decided to try to change the color of the snow.

1 - I ajusted the levels

2 - I added some contrast and brightness

3 - Made a bigger black frame. That sometimes hepl to contrast the snow.

I haven't done a huge amount to this, just increased contrast a little and then applied the Unsharp mask to add a bit of punch. The sky, mountain tops and falls all show a bit more detail. Hope you approve. :-)

Purpose of Workshop: To reduce image noise

Method: Ran through NeatImage - using the medium intensity area by the right hand cows neck to calibrate, since it has noise but relatively little image detail. Reduced Y-channel noise reduction -20%. Turned on low frequency noise reduction to get rid of the coloured "splotches". Added Y-channel sharpening 20% fine, 10% medium to preserve detail.
