- Although I've been photographing for many years, I've never been too serious about it, except for a few passionate episodes with my old Pentax Spotmatic and K1000 cameras where I even took to developing my own films and printing pics whenever friends would let me in their darkroom. Later I hardly did anything exceeding documenting my holidays and the occasional party shooting (a way to avoid participating without it getting noticed).
Although I got to working with digital creation and manipulation of pictures in several art studios for more than a decade, it didn't revive my initial interest in photography. Digital camera's getting better and receiving a more attractive price tag coincided with me having more time to spend. So now I'm the owner of a Digital Rebel XT.
I went for the packaged 18-55 lens because any wide angle for this type of camera becomes obsolete when upgrading to a larger sensor camera. Instead I spent some extra € on the 70-300 lens which performs really well.
All this to conclude that I consider myself an apprentice (which should reflect in my pics) and hope to make considerable progress in the next months and years. So thanks for your comments.
