| Intro: | Good day to everyone. I live and work in Pretoria, South Africa. I am married and have one daughter (second child, apparently a boy, is on it's way, expected early April 2006). My occupation is (for all my sins) Mechanical Engineering, specifically specializing in water supply. I am a very keen amateur photographer and my love for photography is growing daily. I love collecting older cameras and equipment (from the 70's and 80's) which I believe is better in every respect than the autofocus, bells and whistles wizardry of nowadays. I love reading the books of Freeman Patterson who is teaching me to "see" and encouraging me to experiment. Although I own and like to use a digital camera (it also suits the budget) I prefer film to digital. Call me old fashioned if you like... My favourite cameras (from my collection) are the Olympus XA which I can carry in my shirt pocket and of course my trusted old Canon which is 22 years old and still doing it's work. Recently started collecting Nikon and I just bought an excellent (mint condition) FM2n and a Sigma 90mm macro. Watch out... | |
