Amitabha Das Contact
- I am a keen travel photographer presently based in Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, in India
working as a R&D engineer in embedded technologies.
I am not a pro, but may be considered as an advanced amateur.
I started photography with a Yashica M2 range finder during my school days. Then it was a venerable Minolta SRT101 for some years.
After that came the Nikon FM10 with which my experience was not good at all. Even for a camera with such a simple mechanical construction, it broke down within a year of moderate use.
The original REBEL was like manna from heaven.
After 4 and half years of use with more than 20,000 shots it is still going strong. It never
failed for a single moment. Compared to the over-hyped Nikon system my experience with the original REBEL
was truely enriching and pleasant. Now my good ol' REBEL has gathered fungus on the sensor and I still take good care of it and give it to the friends occassionally.
My new 450D is truely a huge step upward compared to the veteran REBEL. Within a month
I've clicked more than 500 shots. The same Canon
reliability and even better IQ shot after shot!
Keeping in tune with the spirit of TE, the raw images are subjected to minimal post processing.
Please comment and critique my shots to your heart's content!
