- Photography makes you look at the world differently, and your view on the world shapes your photography. That's the sort of circular reasoning that causes no end of headaches in my day job researching Machine Learning. It's interesting if occasionally infuriating work, that provides opportunities for travel to conferences and research trips :)
I have interests in most areas of artistic creation, especially writing for stage and radio, but including video, sound recording, stage craft and song writing, though my interest in dance is more amateur than the others :)
I've only recently come to own a digital camera, and it's been a revelation. Now I can capture all those moments that I would have missed previously because I can't afford to develop tens of rolls of film a time. I think that reviewing, workshopping and getting comments on TrekEarth have taught me a great deal.
My thanks to all who have given me useful feedback or inspired me with their own work, and to my dad for introducing me to TrekEarth. A warning: if I've given you a critical critique, I'm not being mean, I just like feedback and get the impression most people like helpful advice, but I sometimes get the tone wrong. It's not personal!
