Intro: I have been taking photographs for decades, and digital technology has rekindled my enthusiasm. I really appreciate the ability to take lots of pics, experimenting all the time, then deleting the failures. Easy cropping is a big plus. Enhancing pictures in other ways is a mixed blessing, but as my experience grows it becomes irresistable to try and enhance images, to bring out their inner qualities, like adding spice and flavouring to food. I previously wrote "too many digital photographs now are like a woman with too much make-up on: too perfect, too artificial. too slick. I hope to post pictures that have been minimally, if at all, played around with digitally." Now, I'm going to be guilty of doing just those things!
UPDATE! (August 2005): Now am shooting with a Nokon 300 and a 18-200 Nikon zoom lens. Lots to learn with this new equipment. Hope to start posting more and better images.
