- In September 2007, after working at home for 14 years, I got a job with the State of California. My workplace is now the 25-story California EPA building in downtown Sacramento, three blocks from the State Capitol. I use my lunch hours to explore the old buildings, history and architecture, opening doors and taking photos. My favorite adventure is the fire escape of the nearby 15-story Elks Tower, which was built in 1926 and is being restored and renovated for office space. Follow along while I exhibit the present downtown Sacramento while explaining her past.
