This photo was one I took in 1989 from inside Ben Hall's cave which you can't go into these days. It was raining and my son was well rugged up looking at the view.

I used the patch tool in photoshop to remove the most obvious blemishes and then I applied Neatimage. Cheers, Marlene.

Changes made in Photoshop:
1. Converted to 16 bit;
2. Added (yes, added) some extra noise to the sky area to prevent posterization effect from appearing later;
3. Cleaned up noise for clear sky area using photoshop noise reduction filter at max reduction settings.
4. Brightened green color, made some small color correction using photoshop selective color tool;
5. Sharpened everything;
6. Cropped out from the left (to remove scanning defects) and from the right to get rid of other partially visible tree and some man-made object t on the ground.

This is a reverse workshop showing what I started with - the crane - photoshopped out and inwards leaning buildings -straightened with the new (for me) ShiftN

John Mortier commented on the lack of sharpness, however when I looked the problem was with the left of the photo, not just the background. Sharpening tended to get the photo over pixillated so I cropped the photo as well to dispose of the major problem area.

i just trim off some of the waters in front to allow for more focus on the buildings but at the same time balance up the shot.
