Hi peter,
I used a neutral density filter to bring up the background tones and then a polarising filter for the sky. I'm still not really happy with the trees but anyway.... I hope you like the changes.

I ran the photo through a neutral density filter and then a polarising filter to bring up the clouds with the side effect of brightening up the foreground as well when evened the colour a little.

Hi Chris I used a polariser (photoshop add on) to bring up the sky and enrich the tower's colours.

This photo was one I took in 1989 from inside Ben Hall's cave which you can't go into these days. It was raining and my son was well rugged up looking at the view.

I just straightened the photo (using ShiftN)to reduce the leaning in, especially on the right.

This is a reverse workshop showing what I started with - the crane - photoshopped out and inwards leaning buildings -straightened with the new (for me) ShiftN

John Mortier commented on the lack of sharpness, however when I looked the problem was with the left of the photo, not just the background. Sharpening tended to get the photo over pixillated so I cropped the photo as well to dispose of the major problem area.
