I found the image a bit over exposed specially on the left side. So, I used the burn tool (brush radius 300, brush hardness 0, midtones, exposure 20%) on these areas to darken it. When the overall exposure seemed balanced I lowered the brightness (-8) to make the whole image a bit darker. Pretty simple.

I used PS to add some white into the picture (Levels), adjusted the curves a bit (lightened the dark colors), burned some of the smoke to make it stand out more, upped the contrast for the same effect, and increased the saturation a bit (+8). Added a frame to top it all off.
Let me know what you think; is it an improvement on the original pic?
