Hi Marc,
I was drawn into your photo by those great shadows in the foreground. I really like your original but my eyes kept going back to that boy and his red shirt.
So I hope you don't mind me playing a bit with your image - assuming that the boy came to talk to your guide I was thinking few minutes ahead and imagined how this shot could have turned out then.
I removed the boy in PS, cropped it bit tighter and changed the frame smaller.
This way it is more simple and you have the shadows and one camel in the the background.
But like I said, your original is really good as well.

Here I have fine tuned with photoshop I hope you will like it.
First I adjust the colors with curve than some doging amd burning as old fashion. This is the results.

I wanted to darken the sky, and used Adobe's Channel Mixer to overexpose the red (120%) while removing some green and blue.
Result: nearly white sand under a dark sky with a prominent diagonal line toward the horizon.

First I cropped the portrait to a vertical format, tilting it slightly just to give it a more relaxing feel.

Then I reduced the saturation to soften the colours a little and finally brightened up the eyes with the dodge tool.
