- Got given an EOS1000d for my birthday recently and have been working on my technique. Previously I was a point and shoot snapper and never took much notice of composition. I have stumbled upon this site since getting the SLR and developing an interest in photography.
The problem with living where I do is the excess of light making most of my photos seem washed out but really, that is what the light is like here. Take your sunglasses off and it is exactly like an overexposed photo. I have travelled overseas and found the light to be much softer, the grass greener and the sky a deeper blue.
I'm yet to do any travel other than locally since i've been bitten by the photography bug so am keen to step outside my own backyard. In the meantime I hope you will tolerate my photos of around where I live complete with bright skies and olive green grass.
