Guy -

I used photoShop and here are the steps:

1) I added a Curves adjustment layer and set the white point to 247 and the black point to 13. Brightened the mid-tones and adjusted the 1/4-tones to add a bit more contrast.
2) The Barber still had a very deep shadow covering the top of his face so I used another Curves layer and brightened the mid-tones for his face.
3) Filled the curves mask with black. Zoomed in on the face and using a medium-soft brush with opacity at about 40% I painted the curves correction on to the face (just one-two passes only)
4) Flattend and saved.

Hope you like the results. Even though he posed it is a good image.

your title is extremly fit for this foto!!
the bright is the sympol of young and something fresh,and the dark on the other side....they crossing the time tunnel,and consist of the whole life ....
nothing can be cropped off here,and i strengthen the contrast/brightness,and make the white plastic sack (right top)more darker...
what do u think?

I gave a little bit more sharpness with Adobe PE2.

Autolevels and sharpness on PSE. Difficult to go further without creating pixellisation.

For everyone, this is the original version with slightly adjusted levels. On second thought, I should've just left it like this...sometimes you just try to hard :).

Only a bit of sharpening and a very light filtering with neat image to clean up the dark area. Think the "diamond" more bright now - hope you like it.

All I did was to adjust the levels , and sharpen a little in lab color . This brought out some Additional colors , at least I think so . What do you think ?

This is in reply to RandomCameraGuy's suggestion.
First of all, let me just say that I did not want to play with the colors of this sunset too much...there is still value for original photos.
Anyway, this is a much stronger version (adjusted curves). I do not want to clone out those electricity lines as I believe it damages this shot. They are not really visible in this version anyway.
