I then just upped the colors a bit.

After receiving technical advice from TrekEarth user: AdrianW, I edited this and find myself incredibly happy with the results. I reduced Cyan levels -45.

Hello Julius, I gave it a try with Corel Photo Paint, tell me what you think of it:

Colour balance: red: 14
Green: 10
Yello: 19
Contrsat: 10
Saturation: 15%

I think that it brings out the natural colour of the tree taking out some grey colour.
