Intro: I have been taking photographs for many years, mainly with a Pentax SLR, and have many slides from various hiking trips and travels. I also enjoy flower and nature photography. I got a small digital Canon Powershot A710 IS to take on a trip to India a couple of years ago, but since then I have had an eye problem which has limited my photography somewhat. I am now in the market for a better camera.

I have been to India 6 times in the last 5 years, spending most of my time in the Tibetan communities in Himachal Pradesh as a volunteer English teacher. I love India, despite being horrified at the large population and extreme poverty. India has a way of getting under a person's skin I think.

I learned about this site from my friend Steve and so far it has been a very positive experience for me. It's great to connect with a community of fellow travellers and photographers, and I am learning a lot from other people's feedback.
