Cropping removes that "ugly" building on the left. Framing gives the picture a matching backdrop and a more professional appearance. The black frame works well with the dark trees and contrasting white houses, which now stand out more. What do you think?

I increased the contrast a bit to bring out the colors of the sky, hut, and swamp. Decreasing the brightness helped offset the bright areas of the photo that appeared after increasing the contrast. Hope you like it!

Increasing the contrast provides a more realistic image. Decreasing the brightness offsets any excessive brightness produced by increasing the contrast. Were the jpeg reduction of better quality (or original photo of higher resolution?), the sky would show a smooth gradient, as opposed to the choppy low quality gradient it shows now. What do you think?

Increased contrast, in this case, helps the photo to look more realistic and brings out the contrasts of the valley. Since the sky is somewhat bright, we must decrease the brightness after increasing the contrast so that the sky does not become too bright. Framing the picture using black and a color matching the color of the sky helps to balance out the lack of light blue color at the bottom of the photo. I also added a hint of sharpening, although a better focus would have been ideal. What do you think?

Since the city is not that flattering in this light and the sky looks very nice, I would simply crop the city out. Decreasing the brightness and increasing the contrast of the sky then highlights the colors and provides a more realistic image. What do you think?

I simply played with the brightness and contrast a little bit. Hope you don't mind!
Since the sky is on the verge of being too bright, we need to decrease the brightness if we are going to increase the contrast. Increasing the contrast without decreasing brightness would cause the sky to be too bright. Doing this also results in the tree (foreground) to become darker. Since the tree's details are not very important to the picture (as the focus is on the wall and the colored building) it actually works to intensify the focus on the picture's main subject.

I've cropped the photo to remove the entire top portion. Since the reflection of the buildings in the water doesn't interfere with the boats, it makes for a good balanced photo even with the real buildings cropped out. I tried to sharpen the image, but it became somewhat grainy - I prefer it unsharpened, though others may prefer it sharpened. Either way, a better focus would have been ideal. I also added slight contrast and a frame, with the orange corresponding to the orange in the photo. What do you think?
