- With the advent of affordable digital cameras, a few years ago I bought my wife a Canon A80. I just wanted her to take some photos but at the same time I secretly wanted to enjoy the world of digital photography myself. The camera was a compromise with simple point and shoot for her and many manual settings for myself.
Back in the early seventies I bought a Canon SLR and some no-name telephoto lenses and got a lot of enjoyment out of photography. I quickly realized that all one needs, is to get that special photo now and again to make it all worthwhile.
Next step will be a digital SLR and a nice lens... some day.
