| Intro: | Note: I have removed some of my early favorite photographers to make room for new ones. I am a Philippine-born used to be college professor teaching science to art and communications students when I joined TE in October 2003. I also was a research scientist (prostate cancer) in one of the bigger hospitals in Chicago. In March 2007, I got laid off from the hospital due to a budget crisis, was unemployed for five months ... and now am back in the work force as a support staff at a large university in Chicago. I have been taking pictures half my life but have been a serious hobbyist only recently since digital photography became affordable AND since I joined TrekEarth in 2003. TrekEarth is a major influence in my development as a photographer. I like street photography - taking pot shots of events around me as they happen. As you can see, the photographs I take are very eclectic and for the most part, are hit and miss affairs. I also enjoy taking photographs of photographers taking photographs ... please visit my photoblog, Uncommon Photographers and contribute if you can! I have traveled to and lived in several countries but most of my photographs are of the United States - there's so much to photograph here. Since I come from Asia, the exotic to me is the Western world - especially the US. Growing up in a former US colony, we were/are constantly bombarded by images of America (or the States in our vernacular). My plan is to visit and photograph all the 50 states in my lifetime.
