a rather straightforward workshop. I like the original pic a lot with its vivid colour and strong PoI. However I feel the need to straighten the horizon a bit, and performs a crop to enhance the composition. I threw away the dark areas in the lower part of the picture.This way, the viewer's eye is led directly to the PoI without any distractions.

Oh, and I changed the width/height ratio to 35mm films

I did this workshop solely for the composition. The picture itself is beautiful, but I feel it could benefit from a portrait orientation. I use standard DSLR size ratio for the canvas. I tilted the tower a bit to get a more straight tower. I discard most of the trees on the right, and give a curve adjustment to get a 'punchier' colour.

I would love to see this picture in portrait. If only I could get full view of the cannon :)

I cropped the frame rather tightly, emphasizing on the window and what's inside it. I also lift the colour a bit via curve adjustments. This way, the audience will be guided by the cannon directly to the ship afar, without any distractions.

My first workshop, be patient with me :)

Just removing the black portion of the game, which to my opinion adds a little to the image. Reviving the sharpness thru USM (little bit rough, editing the original pic should produce much better result) and lifting the colour thru hue/saturation.
