I just added a frame to make it stand out a bit more, then I cropped out the mud puddle and added some contrast. thanks for looking

The main tools I used were in Photo Shop 3.0 - darkening highlights and adding contrast. I also cropped a little, chiefly to eliminate some of the foreground foliage. Finally, I used the clarify tool in Paint Shop Pro 9 and then tweaked the Sharpen one notch. I know you were seeking a soft effect and perhaps this does not work for you, but I hope you like it.

- increased color saturation (+20)
- deeper shadows by sliding the levels mid-point (0,80)
- general composition balance (crop to give more importance to the birds and eliminate the overexposed patch of grass in the foreground, though I'm not fully satisfied by the result due to the parallel shadow in the bottom of the frame)

I'm quite sure someone more experienced than me would get better results. But here's the result of my efforts... ;-)

Here it is :)

First, horizontally inverted, i think it is interesting to be able to read the names of the stores.
Than I went for an even more vertical format by cropping a bit from right and left.
Finally, adjusted with levels, brightness and contrast.
Added grain.

Touched up the sharpness on the shoe a little.
Blurred the building a little more.
Added a frame.

Some people found the picure overexposed. To defend myself, I can say that I softened it for artistic reasons to emphasize geometry of the action.
I post original file from my camera for comparison.
