| Intro: | I'm here to try to learn how to take better photos and to seek inspiration from the many wonderful images found here on TE. Photography is secondary to my interest in 'the great outdoors' - I've hiked, cycled and traveled much of the UK and parts of Europe, the Middle East & Asia. I realise now that I have only been taking snapshots in the past. Going digital in 2002 prompted a big boost in my interest in photography - no more labs ruining my negs, and low quality prints; goodbye film, I will not miss you! I welcome any constructive comments on my photos - good or bad. UPDATE: Okay, I give in, I finally bought a digital SLR in May 2005 - mainly to allow me to use a wider angle lens and add polariser and grey grad filters to my landscape images. Thank you TE users, for pointing the way to better photos. ...Then a 10-22mm wide angle zoom ...followed by a 18-200mm zoom UPDATE2: Portability is a major issue for me, so to increase my potential for taking photos while 'on-the-move' I've added a Ricoh GR Digital to my collection - what a fantastic little camera! NOTES: I am an opportunist photographer; I rarely have the time or inclination to 'wait for the perfect shot/lighting'. I will not post repeat images of very similar scenes just to get additional TE points. I hope my travelogues tell a small story, and are in the spirit of TE. | |
