Hi, my name is Christopher. I am originally from the state of Georgia in the United States. When I was a boy I was impressed by the fantastic and exotic photos I would see in the National Geographic Magazines. Those images made me want to explore the world around me and seek out adventure. They sowed the seeds of curiosity about the world in my mind. Growing up, people who knew me saw my intense interest in colours and shapes, people, places, and nature. I first became truly interested in photography at the age of 17 when my great aunt showed me some old photos of my family. Some images were of family members I had never met in my lifetime, and were over 100 years old. They were recorded on the original glass (Ambrotype) or metal plates (Daguerreotype) and they sparked my interest. Those old photos and the colorful stories accompanying them influenced me to pursue learning about and photographing people, places and things that related to both my family and the history they lived through. I started exploring and experimenting by photographing my own experiences, and places I travelled...especially if I felt it was interesting or colorful. I worked onboard a large Naval ship for several years and travelled the globe, seeing many amazing places and people. I photographed my travels and the things that I saw...and I was able to share THE WORLD with my family and friends (seen through my eyes) for the very first time. I have seen some amazing things out there in the world -both good and bad. I keep photo albums of all this for my children to have someday. I am enjoying the benefits of going digital very much. It is so versatile and well-suited for capturing spontaneous moments at special occasions, as well as landscapes and posed portraits. I love nature and the outdoors, hiking across countryside, travelling and learning about other people and places. Photography is a great way for me to explore the world and share what I have seen and experienced in my life with other people. I hope you like one or more of my photos and it will help you to see the world through my eyes(and lens.) Maybe it will inspire you to seek out that place, to learn more about another part of this amazingly diverse and planet and the people who live here. Awareness, understanding, and positive interaction through photography is my newfound philosophy. A photo does not lie, and it is not opinionated. It is real. A single image can be worth a thousand words. Have fun out there, be safe, and keep sharing what you see with us here...I know I will!
