| Intro: | I've always enjoyed photography, but finally bought a proper camera - my Canon 350D - in July last year. I love taking pictures - I'm very much a humble amateur, but I'm super keen to improve my photography skills and am totally inspired by this site. By that token, I welcome ALL comments, especially if you have any suggestions on how I can improve (and of course I'm always happy to hear if you think I've done anything particularly well!). I can understand critiques in English, French, German, Thai or Spanish (but I can only reply in English or French). My favourite subjects are "everyday life" moments and what can best be described as cultural still-lifes. In photography I love repetition, framed compositions, vibrant colour, and juxtapositions. I'm not very good at people photography, because first I'm shy and second it always feels like an invasion of privacy, but I'm trying to improve. In the spirit of TE, I try to post informative notes, and participate in the exchange of critiques. Therefore if a photo is posted without a note, or if a user has posted more photos than critiques, I am not encouraged to critique their work. I'm travelling around at the moment, so I'm not able to reciprocate comments as much as I'd like (internet time is precious!), but I will try to catch up when I can. I'm in India right now, and at the end of the month I'm heading back to SE Asia, with Thailand as a base. I would love to go to Japan too - maybe next year for the cherry blossom. I adore Asia! | |
