Intro: I'm a Québécois currently working in Québec City, but I often visit Norway for family reason. Photography has been one of my hobbies for many years now. Well, at least on and off. I got my first reflex camera in 1984 (a Minolta X-700). I switched from positive films to digital not so long ago. (I perhaps waited too long!) Like for many of you, I like traveling, and photography is then a significant part of the pleasure. I use to say that I don’t take travel photos but take photos while traveling. But what does that mean exactly?

I discovered TE by chance a few years ago (there were then ca 20k members!) and kept visiting the site sporadically without actively participating. As you see, I finally decided to become member. The “learning about the world through photography” theme is part of my pleasure here, and I appreciate photos and notes that learn me something. However, I can also enjoy a good photo just for its esthetical content and/or its technical achievement …

Regarding my artistic and technical skills, there's plenty of space for improvement. So thanks in advance for your advices and your comments. Claude.
