Intro: Although there are many, many places in the world that I hope to visit, I can't seem to get enough of India. I have been there 11 times. Once a year since 1995. I did not originally go to India for photography. I went to Lucknow on a "spiritual pilgrimage" to visit a great teacher named HWL Poonja (Papaji) and could not get over how photogenic India was.For the first time in my life I felt as though I had stepped into the pages of National Geographic (which of course I had.) I spent several years developing an interest in photography, taking snapshots with a point and shoot while staying in ashrams. Not really seeing much of India other than in meditation halls and caves. Eventually photography won me over and for the last few years instead of meditating I have been out shooting!
