I personally thought that the photo had way too much blueness to it.

I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7. The modes:

Clarification > claryfying and brightening the dark edges
Highlight/midtone and shadow > which made the edges darker, while maintaining a lighter centre. Colour Correction > in which i turned the blueish colours to a more brownish colour which in fact matched well with the arc.
