I just ran "Neat Image" over the workshop that "ws" created. I think this looks a lot better. It is not so grainular.

In this workshop I took off the highlight on the left and removed the people with the stamp tool.

I framed differently, a little at the top and to the right so that there is less branches. It also places the stag in a better position. I increased the size of the photo too since it was not very big but I see that you could not make it very bigger as it looses some sharpness.

A l'aide d'Adobe PS, j'ai augmenté la saturation des couleurs en jaune et en vert.
Application d'un filtre dégradé bleu, pour assombrir le ciel.

Using Adobe PS, I increased the saturation of the colors in yellow and green. Application of a blue degraded filter, to obscure the sky.

I had focused the picture to the cowboy. I dodge the grassland to give a bright sunny feel.

Techniques:
1) Image resolution increased to 1200 dpi.
2) Cropping.
3) Dodging of Midtones (Grassland)
4) Framing
5) Reduce size proportionally to height of 800px.

Made an alpha mask on the areas lit by the sun and corrected the colors and contrast using Levels and the Curves to fine tune in PS.
Then I selected only the sky and worked out the colors. I didn't "touch" the shadow areas because I like the contrast between the volcano and the rocks in the foreground.

Bruce, here is my angle...

1) First I selected the sky with Magic Wand Tool (feather 1) and I applied 1,2 Gaussian Blur to eliminate the grain.

2) In the same selection I used the Curves for Blue input 100% output 0%, then RGB input 80% output 100%.

3) Now, for the complete frame used the Curves for Blue input 25% output 0% to eliminate the greenish, brownish and greyish hue.

4) Again for the complete frame used levels to increase input RGB level at 20 (shadows) and decrease at 240 (highlights)

5) With Magic Wand again selected the fron sea and Gaussian Blured at 0,8 to eliminate the grain again.

6) Magic Wand again selected some parts of the front iceberg (the highlighted areas) and applied Unsharp Mask at 115% - 1,5 - 5 to bring them up.

Hmmm, enough, there you go... What I did does not mean your photo isn't good. Just my point of a bluer, brighter sky and elimination of grain.

Bruce, this is such a stunning shot! I didn't do anything but add the black frame and resize again. Not much, as workshops go, just wanted to share the results. Hope you don't mind. :-)
