Viewing comfort is an important factor in composition. Most of us are right handers and we have the habit to pan our reading or viewing from left to the right.
The picture presented a dark blank area at the left starting point. Our eyes get a repulsive darkness at the begining.
Grammar of composition also suggests the left lower position of third as the best position to keep the main object of interest.

Watching without comfort stole a lot from this nice colourful presentation.

I did a Flip Horizontal to overcome all the problems I did mention above.

Attractive capture of a vertical structure. Exposure and hue saturation is perfect - the gray shadows on the pillars are well delineated in this picture. I wanted the structure only to glow and stand out of the dark background.
What did I do?
selected the building from the background.
Shifted the colour balance as follows:
Magenta + 15
Red + 18
Yellow + 12
The result is an attractive and glowing building on a dark background.

A capture with excellent framing and composition.
Inherent exposure problem due to the slanting sun creating three different areas of illumination within the same frame.
Even the most intelligent microprocessor and fireware combined with multiple point exposure sensor probably can not mange the uniform clarity issue in this frame.
The puzzle attracted me: I have tried to solve it just to evaluate if people really like this digital manipulation or not!

The procedure:
1. Selected the left side under exposed mountain using polygon selection tool.
Brightness increased +20
Contrast increased +10

2. Selected the right side overexposed mountain using polygon selection tool.
Brightness reduced -30
Contrast increased +15
Colour shifted to green + 15

3. Selected the sky area above.
Colour shifted to blue +10
Colour saturation increased +7
Brightness reduced -7

Evaluation awaited whether the plan worked or otherwise?

A fantastic picture with a rich Green in the foreground. Focus and colour saturation adjusted in this shot for the foreground only. Consequently the background washed out due to the long distance, the vertical sun and the mist of mountains.

Correction applied as follows:
I balanced the background as follows:
1. Selected the background-area with polygon selection tool.
2. Brightness reduced -35
3. Contrast increased +45
4. Colour shifted to Green +18

The result ............ Hope you like it.

The background was little dull in colour. The nice white colour ship almost merged with the background colour.

Selected the background area except the ship and:
1. Contrast increased +14
2. Colour shift to Blue(+8) and Cyan (+6)
3. Colour saturation increased +8

Now the white ship stand out well from the background.

Selection and erase:
The rock in foreground as it was distracting my attention from the calm water in the pond.

Selection and Tune:
Selected the burnt -out high illumination area and adjusted the tuning parameters:
1. Brightness to - - -26
2. Contrast to - - +8
3. Colour balance shifted to Green +32

Thank god the colour data was there and it returned to Green.

It's now a calm and quiet pond bathing in the soft sunlight with the "Shaluk" (Local name in Bengali) leaves surfacing green with a golden tinge.

Aim is to add my humble idea to this nice picture.

Cropping done to enhance the visibility of the "shoe in hand" at the same time putting it in the center.

Selected the hand with the shoe and:
Increased brightness - +18
Increased contrast - - + 12
Sharpened - One step

Framed for two reasons.
To get an effect.
to increase the minimum pixel size to 250.

The viewing angle was not realistic and so disturbing a quick and comfortable perception.

So rotated 90 degrees to the real viewing angle.

Tree was tilted
1. Straightened the tree by rotating 4 degrres to the left. cropped accordingly.
Washed out appearance of the picture.
2. Brightness reduced -40
3. Contrast increased +30

4. A frame is essential for this type of composition.
