hi olivier, i liked your picture very much,it reminds me a picture i took in seyshelles, so i gave a workshop. i think it helped a lot. i wanted to improve the horizontal, instead on the vertical, and i played a bit with colors.
also, as i cropped the image, i resized it and applied a sharpness filter. let me know what you think, tfs, friendly, simona

Très chouette photo, l'éclairage met en valeur juste ce qu'il faut, on a l'impression qu'il se concentre avant de monter sur scène. Je pense cependant qu'il y a trop de noir à gauche et en bas...

Adjust levels..shadows highlight... hue saturatoin by 9% and then smart sharpen in Photoshop CS2 and Save for Web again.

The colors and contrast didn't seem to be strong enough. I used the curves tool to increase the contrast, making the cloud brighter and the sea and palms darker. Then I used the shadow/highlight tool to brighten the blue blue in the sky more. More dramatic but probably overdone, Don

The original photo looked great, but I thought that I would try to increase the contrast so as to make the silhouettes stand out more and make the colors in the sky more bold.

Here is what I did in Photoshop 7:

1) Copied the background layer, ran unsharp mask with settings of 20,50,0 and changed the opacity of the layer to 75%.
2) Copied the background layer, ran unsharp mask with settings of 100,250,0 and changed the opacity to 10%.
3) Created a curves adjustment layer, made a basic S-curve and darkened the midtones slightly.
4) Created a curves adjustment layer, set the blending mode to "multiply" and the opacity to 5% (to darken the image slightly).

Just another possibility for this photo, I hope you like it.

J'aime beaucoup ce ciel pesant, et je voulais accentuer ca...

Donc un peu de contraste automatique sous Picasa, puis réglages sur les ombres.

Découpage pour tout déséquilibrer l'herbe et le ciel, et ainsi tout mettre sur ces pauvres animaux qui n'ont rien demandé et qui se plaisent tant.

Et encore un ajustement de contraste.

j'ai coupé tous ce qui n'aportait pas grand chose à la compo et pour décaler la statue. les deux personnages regardant vers la gauche, il me semblait important de diminuer l'espace à droite vide.
ensuite j'ai changé les tonalités du n&b pour donner plus de caractère à la photo.
c'est seulemnt ma version que je te propose.
j'espère que tu aimeras qd même

A nice shot but it's very soft and has a slight colour cast. It is begging for some colour adjustment and sharpening - see my workshop. Also, the right-hand side is a little empty and the image seems unbalanced, so I cropped it out.
