In the Gauguin Museum in Hiva Oa where the great Post-Impressionist is buried, I saw a copy of a letter to his good friend, Vincent van Gogh, "Dear Vincent, I agree with you, art does not have to mimic the subject..."

I am doing a ws and presenting a shot of San Martin. Artistically speaking, I think the statue of the Cuban hero, José Marti, is the most dramatic of the three equestrian statues at Central Park South.
batalay (35369) 2011-12-06 06:37:30Remembering how Beverley (Royaldevon) returned to a photo, 'Reflected Splendour,' and placed an image with her companions, I thought I would return the favour and integrate a photo with my companions. We had had a long lunch in the restaurant of the Park Lane Hotel facing the park. My companions are an orthopedic surgeon (retired) and his wife, both in from Los Angeles, and the blond is my wife. Here, for Beverley, I am even misspelling the words, 'splendour,' 'favour,' in the manner of the Brits. Oh yes, and the restaurant is on the 'first floor' according to the Brits, and "second floor" according to Americans. Also, in British usage, the quotation mark usage has the single quote (') preceding double quote ("), whereas in American usage, double quote (") precedes the single quote ('). As Churchill famously described the situation, 'We have everything in common with the Americans except the language.'
