banyanman (7789) 2008-03-28 08:57:30I cropped this closer, lightened the shadows and increased contrast and sharpness, to remove the left hand wall to make it even more 'mininalist' and enhance the contrast between the pot and the blue window.
banyanman (7789) 2008-02-15 06:35:05This is the lanterns shot that I originally went to the temple to get. However, I didn't think it was good enough for a main post as the sky was overcast and didn't provide enough contrast. I will drop into the temple again this coming weekend, if the sky is clearer, and see if I can do better than this.
banyanman (7789) 2007-12-07 05:54:11A close-up view of one of the retaining walls. To bring these thousands of heavy basalt columns to the site was a remarkable feat – akin to the building of the pyramids in Eygpt. There is a local legend that the columns were flown to the site by a powerful magician!
banyanman (7789) 2007-09-05 06:34:18A wider shot of the area in front of the church. The position from which I took the main post was right behind the statue on the left, so I couldn't go back any further from there, and only just managed to squeeze the whole of the church in with my wide angle lens.
banyanman (7789) 2007-08-05 00:39:33Sorry I can't tell you exactly what I did on this - I just played around with the various colour correction tools in PS until it looked right - I used the sunflowers to gauge what I thought should be the true colours. The only thing that didn't look right at that point were the skin tones on the woman, so I selected the exposed parts of her skin and then used the skin tone correction tool to adjust that. The skin tones may still be a bit off, but I think the flowers look better now.
