I used a low quality software to do this because I'm at work now, but just to give an idea, used the "instant fix" option and added some sharpness.

Rotated, cropped square & resized. Adjusted level and added saturation. Framed.
By resizing up to 800x800 I know that the quality of the image has suffered, but I think the shop has more impact.

Arnie, I just thought I'd try a small workshop to take out some of the overexposed sky and to remove the hazy cast it had. Hope you find it helpful

Used Adobe Photoshop to crop some of the overexposed white sky. Sharpened it through Unsharp mask at 85%, .4 radius, 2 threshhold.

Used levels to bring up the intensities of the tones and remove some of that white pale that comes from backlighting. Finally tried to use the shadow/highlight to bring a little depth into the cliffs in the background.

Anyway, it's not close to perfect, ideally having the light source is the best solution. Hard to do much of the time though on a trip.

Cropping, adjustments in levels, contrast. Small corrections on the water.
