Opened and adjusted in RAW to reduce the highlight. Brought down the exposure and brightness level until the overexposed areas become acceptably exposed while the other part which was previously properly exposed become dark.

Duplicated the original copy & pasted on the adjusted copy. Used layer mask -> hide -> paint over the dark areas to reveal the original & properly exposed areas.

Normal level, curve, shadow/highlight adjustments after the above. Bring up the green in level or curve to take it closer to the original ... perhaps I should have done this before posting :).

To avoid the green dominant I gave some red colour with the colour balance.

Tilt of the tower cor rested, using skew tool. A little asymmetry created by cropping the right side a little.

I desaturated and blured the background in order to attract more attention to the bird and stress the contrast between its dynamism and a static background.
