Green eyes in animal pictures is like red eyes in human pictures: the syndrome is cause by the flash bouncing off the back of the eyeball because the pupils are wide open in the dark. Unlike humans, animals have a reflective layer in the back of their eyes behind the retina which enhances their night vision.
What I have done is to use the magnetic lasso to isolate the pupil and then desaturated only the green. This left a very pale grey which I darkened by suing the burn tool with a brush size slightly smaller than the pupil. there are other methods as well, including one designed for photoshop, like here: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshop/ht/apsredeye.htm

Well this is the best I think I can do. I kept more of the initial color than previously thought, and sharpened it a little less than your initial post. I also added a fram to the composition, just for the fun.

This is the original shot, before any PP was applied, which was sharpness and colour adhustment. Personally I rather like the photo as shot.

Alternative copy which I didn't like as much as my main post... We loose sea smoke, colour in the sky, as well as the more panoramic view.
