I felt I wanted to bring more attention onto the couple, so with that in mind I 1st applied the measur tool to the metal bar above their head then rotate arbatory to make this horizontal. Then set crop tool to a preset 21 X 21cm @72dpi and then drew the crop box onto the picture and moved and resized with the boxes in the corners , till happy and press apply. use save to web to get the optimum file size , as close to 200k as posible. hope you like.

Putting my money where my mouth is Ive done a WS all Ive done is to apply a narrower crop which could of been even tighter and still be OK in my opinion and save to web 191k to preserve quality. hope you like?

This is the pair of Lime Hawk moths mating , he is surrspended from her totaly , his legs are folded at the side of his body.Note the size and colour differnces, the colour patternis surposed to be like a neawly unfolding leaf.
Where as the other has no work this has loads
the left wing is in front of the focus point , the wind was blowing the basket around inspite of efforts to hold it still by hand.
Adjustments
the basic effort was to lighten this dark image and harden up some of the soft focus areas.
to that end levels raise the base levl
saturation +8 lightness +4
Brightness +4 Contrast +3
leftwing use Burntool and Sharpen toolto try and over come the soft focus.
sharpen edges
USM 40% X 4px radius X threshold 3
crop to size at 72dpi

This is the same butterfly with its wings open.If you look closely you will see the spots from the back of the wing showing through the metalic surface,the plant in the back ground is a wild Rubus fruiticosa ( blackberry)
adjustment Levels
saturation +8 lightness -4 (trying to tone down the metalic sheen
contrast +3 Brightness -4
sharpen edges
burntool to leading edges of wings to darken them down a fraction.
I know this is cheating a little but wanted to show you both sides of him.

Thought I would try to demonstaite what I was on about by a wider view, hope you dont mind.
Having opened your picture in PS7 I extended the canvas to 50cm and made several copies fo the blank area of the field to the left of the tree, these were flip or not as i moved them across to try and make a easy to match scene. have done that bit there was some bits that needed to be cloned out or in some more such as a dark area which had been part of the tree shadow, and added to some of the clouds that looked a little too alike.
then cropped to get the present frame shape and saved . merged all layers adjusted in levels ,
saturation +8 and contrast +13, and USM 130% X radius 2.1 X threshold 1
resize image down to 800 pixels wide so I could post it to TE. If the image had of been mine I would of posted the larger image as a wide post.can mail you the larger one if you want.

Have made a few very slight adjustments mainly to strenghten the colour in the sky and reflections.
Saturation +9 and lightness -5
brightness -5 contrst +4
and burntool over the sky area at 15% and a soft brush, resave to web at197k hope you feel it was worth the effort.

Hope you dont mind Ive done a little work to make it look more sharp. this was done using the burntool in PS7vset around 24% with a soft brush applied to the wings and end of tail, also sharpen tool to same areas and an overall USM at a very low level 28% X 0.8radius X threshold 1

et l'extrémité de la queue, affilent également l'outil aux mêmes
secteurs et un USM global à un seuil 1 du niveau très bas 28% X

Hi Nick hope you dont mind I have applied some PS7 to your picture to sharpen it up a little bit,
Adjustments,
mainly the use of burn tool set at 24% with varring brush sizes to things like legs that looked out of focus, you may need to do several time to get right level to make it look in focus, also a bit of sharpen brush at 34% to stone.
and USM 99% x 2.1 rad X threshold 1
resave to web at 198.2K and post

Just thought I would have a go at the wing ends
So a single pass with the sharpen tool at 34% and burntool at31% both witha soft edged brush. also with the burntoo on near side legs and leading edges of the wings to harden the look of them, Cloned out what was posibley 2 pieces of spider web hanging from the wings remains of a close encounter. finaly Unsharp Mask, at 103% X1.9px X threshold 1, I was surprised at this because nornally if it has been sharpened first it does not work well?
