I've applied the lens correction filter to correct the vertical distortion, then I've applied levels, curves, tone/saturation and, finally, some slight sharpening.

To me, this is one of those typical cases in which a blurred background helps a lot to highlight the subject. And that's what I've tried to do by selecting the background and then applying the gaussian filter.

Added 20% yellow, 20% green & 10% cyan to the bottom left corner with a feather margin of 111 pixels. I then added brightness & contrast of 60% / 50% to the mid tones in the lower left corner.
